The Metrology Imperative
In precision injection molding, raw polymers undergo intense thermal, shear, and volumetric transformations. Volumetric shrinkage, non-uniform cooling rates, gate freezing, and tool wear can introduce micro-deviations that compromise final assembly, interlock fits, and fluid containment.
Mascot Plastic Industries operates an in-house, climate-controlled metrology laboratory equipped with automated multi-axis CNC Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and non-contact optical Vision Measuring Machines (VMM). From First Article Inspection (FAI) tooling signoffs to multi-cavity statistical process control (SPC), we provide verifiable dimensional certainty.
Metrology programs are executed under strictly stabilized conditions (20°C ± 1°C, 45-55% RH) following ISO 20457, DIN 16742 plastic molding tolerance guidelines, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T definitions.
